Overview

This role is responsible for coordinating and executing end-to-end supply chain and marine logistics activities supporting vessels, shipyards, and drydock operations across the GCC and Gulf region. The role ensures timely procurement, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, vessel deliveries, and operational support while maintaining compliance with JAFZA, port, customs, and client requirements. 

Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments for vessel spares, consumables, equipment, and project cargo.
  • Manage supplier follow-up, shipment tracking, delivery schedules, and inventory visibility.
  • Coordinate warehousing, packing, consolidation, and distribution activities within JAFZA.
  • Monitor critical and urgent vessel requirements to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records, IOR/EOR, operational reports, and KPI dashboards.

Marine Logistics & Vessel Operations

  • Arrange and coordinate deliveries to vessels at ports, anchorages, offshore locations, and drydocks.
  • Liaise with vessel masters, agents, port authorities, and customers regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate launch boat services, port passes, escort requirements, and marine service providers.
  • Manage critical spares logistics and emergency deliveries to minimize vessel downtime.
  • Support project cargo movements related to drydock repairs, vessel upgrades, and offshore projects.

Customs & Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate JAFZA documentation, customs declarations, temporary imports, exports, and re-exports.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Customs, JAFZA regulations, and client-specific requirements.
  • Prepare and validate shipping documents. 
  • Resolve customs-related issues and shipment exceptions.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned customers.
  • Provide proactive shipment updates and exception management.
  • Coordinate closely with warehouse, transport providers, customs brokers, and marine agents.
  • Participate in operational review meetings and customer performance reviews.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor shipment milestones and operational KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve lead times, and enhance service quality.
  • Support implementation of SOPs and operational best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or marine operations.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory or people‑management experience
  • Strong understanding of international logistics, Incoterms, carrier contracts, and rate mechanisms.
  • Experience handling JAFZA operations and UAE customs procedures.
  • Exposure to marine logistics, vessel support, offshore logistics, or drydock operations.s.
  • Strong system proficiency, including CargoWise or similar logistics platforms
  • Experience supporting offshore, oil & gas, marine, or shipyard customers.
  • Knowledge of GCC port operations, drydock facilities, and vessel husbandry services.
  • Experience managing time-critical marine spare deliveries.
  • Experience dealing with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and marine agents.
  • Effective coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work within defined strategies while contributing practical, execution‑focused insights.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
