Overview

The Senior Vice President, Asia-Pacific is responsible for leading and executing AIT's strategic vision, growth agenda, operational excellence, and financial performance across the Asia-Pacific region. This executive role provides leadership for all business operations, commercial activities, strategic partnerships, customer experience, talent development, and organizational transformation throughout Asia. 

The SVP serves as a key member of the global executive leadership team and is accountable for delivering sustainable revenue growth, operational scalability, market expansion, customer retention, and profitability while ensuring alignment with AIT's global strategy, values, and performance expectations. 

The role drives a high-performance culture focused on customer centricity, innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across diverse markets and cultures throughout Asia-Pacific. 

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Asia-Pacific regional strategy aligned with AIT's global vision, growth objectives, and long-term business plans.  
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities, industry trends, trade lane developments, and strategic investments across APAC.  
  • Lead market expansion initiatives, including new country development, acquisitions, partnerships, and service diversification.  
  • Establish regional business objectives, KPIs, and performance standards that drive profitable growth and shareholder value.  
  • Represent APAC in global strategic planning discussions and contribute to enterprise-wide decision-making. 

P&L Leadership & Financial Performance 

  • Own full regional P&L accountability, ensuring achievement of revenue, EBITDA, gross profit, and operating income targets.  
  • Drive financial discipline through effective forecasting, budgeting, capital allocation, and resource optimization.  
  • Monitor and improve key business performance metrics, productivity measures, and operational efficiencies.  
  • Lead pricing strategies, margin management, procurement optimization, and cost-control initiatives.  
  • Ensure strong governance and risk management practices across all Asia-Pacific operations. 

Operational Excellence & Transformation 

  • Lead the implementation of scalable operating models and standardized business processes across Asia-Pacific.  
  • Champion digital transformation, automation, and technology adoption initiatives to enhance productivity and customer experience.  
  • Drive continuous improvement programs utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.  
  • Ensure operational consistency, compliance, quality standards, and service excellence throughout the region.  
  • Lead crisis management and business continuity planning for regional operations. 

Commercial Leadership & Customer Strategy 

  • Partner with regional and global commercial teams to drive revenue growth and market share expansion.  
  • Develop executive-level relationships with strategic customers, multinational clients, carriers, and key industry stakeholders.  
  • Lead customer retention strategies and ensure delivery of best-in-class customer experience.  
  • Support major global bids, RFQs, strategic account reviews, and contract negotiations.  
  • Identify and develop innovative logistics solutions aligned with evolving customer requirements and market trends. 

Leadership & Talent Development 

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing regional leadership team across multiple countries and cultures.  
  • Create succession plans and leadership pipelines for critical roles throughout Asia.  
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.  
  • Attract, develop, and retain top industry talent.  
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and leadership development. 

Strategic Partnerships & External Representation 

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with carriers, government agencies, industry associations, and strategic partners.  
  • Represent AIT at executive forums, industry events, customer meetings, and market development initiatives.  
  • Influence regional industry trends and position AIT as a preferred logistics solutions provider.  
  • Support M&A evaluations, integration activities, and strategic partnership opportunities. 

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management 

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, trade compliance, security, and corporate governance requirements.  
  • Promote a culture of ethics, integrity, safety, and corporate responsibility.  
  • Monitor geopolitical, economic, and regulatory risks impacting regional operations and develop mitigation strategies.  
  • Ensure adherence to global standards while maintaining flexibility for local market requirements. 

Innovation & Future Readiness 

  • Lead innovation initiatives that enhance customer value propositions and operational efficiency.  
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, AI, automation, and supply chain solutions that can create competitive advantages.  
  • Foster a culture that embraces change, creativity, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred 
  • Master's Degree (MBA, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related discipline) strongly preferred.  

Experience 

  • 20+ years of progressive logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or transportation leadership experience.  
  • Minimum 10-15 years leading multi-country operations across Asia.  
  • Proven executive-level P&L ownership exceeding regional business units.  
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale organizational transformation and growth initiatives.  
  • Strong experience working within a global matrix organization.
