Overview

AIT India is seeking a Key Account Manager for Automotive & Industrial sector. The individual will be the primary point of contact for our valued Automotive & Industrial clients, responsible for building and nurturing strong relationships to driving business growth, ensuring utmost satisfaction. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strategic, customer oriented, multi-national focus on seeking new growth and development opportunities in the sector. 

Locations - Mumbai, Pune or Chennai 

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key Automotive and Industrial clients, gaining deep insight into their business goals and aligning those with AIT’s advanced freight forwarding solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans aimed at driving revenue growth, increasing profitability, and addressing the evolving needs of priority accounts.
  • Lead P&L management for all Automotive and Industrial accounts, overseeing daily financial performance and coordinating with operations stakeholders and customers to ensure timely payments in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Drive direct client acquisition efforts with a target of closing new accounts on regular designated frequencies, in close collaboration with the India VP and Sales Director to support client growth and onboarding.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling across the portfolio, delivering value-added solutions that contribute to business expansion and achieve sales targets.
  • Serve as a dedicated client advocate within the organization, ensuring feedback is captured and translated into ongoing service improvements.
  • Promptly and professionally resolve client issues and disputes, pursuing win-win outcomes that reinforce trust and long-term engagement.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and market developments to provide clients with strategic insights and position AIT as a preferred logistics partner.
  • Take ownership of operational resolutions, account management, and team leadership to meet the KPI and QMS standards established by both clients and AIT Corporate. Partner effectively with internal teams, including product development and marketing, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Maintain a sharp focus on achieving daily measurable accountabilities and key performance indicators, especially around client communication and satisfaction.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as determined by evolving business needs and organizational priorities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Key Account Manager or in a similar client-facing role within the technology industry. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Relevant work experience equivalent to 15-20 years’ transportation/logistics industry
  • Automotive Experience 10+ Year’s minimum
  • Minimum 5 years Management experience required
  • Certifications –Cargo wise, Cargo Basis, DG
  • Master’s Degree in related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree equivalent combination of work experience may be considered.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to develop new ideas and innovative solutions
  • Detail-oriented individual with great communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
  • Team player willing to help others and adapt to a growth mindset as we continue to grow the vertical
  • Demonstrates considerable judgments and has authority to act Ability to manage procurement and margins goals/KPI’s
  • Knowledgeable in Gross Revenue, Gross Profit / Margin and business development Year over Year
  • Understanding of Vertical Budget Gross Revenue, Gross Profit / Margin and Business Development Year over Year
