Overview

We are seeking an Operations Onboarding Trainer that will assist in the development, and facilitation of our Operations Onboarding Training Program.  This new program will be a blend of Live, Instructor-led courses with supplemental e-learning content offered to all operational teammates (Air, Ocean, Domestic) hired within Asia This is a new role reporting directly to the Training Program Manager.  The ideal candidate would have experience in both Air and Ocean Freight Forwarding and be bilingual (Fluent in English and Chinese). 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of AIT Operational Processes across all Products 
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify training gaps specific to Asia and customize Training Content, Activities and Curriculum for local needs.
  • Facilitate the Live, Virtual Instructor Led courses on a consistent and regular schedule each week (approx. 20 hours per week).
  • Act as mentor to participants in each training program, ensuring their success not only during the program but in the days/weeks/months afterwards.
  • Constant Focus on continuous improvement: researching best practices, learning & development tools & methods, creative interactive activity ideas etc..Suggest adjustments to improve.
  • Manage and report on virtual trainings in LMS which supplement the live instructor led trainings.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to hiring managers for the continued teammate onboarding and development of their new teammate.
  • This role will assist in assessing, communicating, and coordinating the new hire onboarding experience.
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of the Operational Onboarding Training Program through feedback and evaluation to continuously improve learning experience.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with teammates, subject matter experts and leaders across the organization.
  • Assist Training Team with other AIT Training Initiatives, as needed. 

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma Required 

Experience

  • Five (5) or more years International Freight Forwarding experience (Air and Ocean required) 
  • High Proficiency in CargoWise, CCO Certification or higher preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Fluent in English and Chinese (other languages a plus)
  • Experience training new employees a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with speaking in front of a large group of people
  • Can drive understanding (i.e. using visual aids, able to recognize when a group or individual is lost and needs more attention
  • Ability to effectively describe complicated ideas to different audiences (with different learning styles)
  • Patience working with new hires that all have different experience levels and learning abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Analytical & Process minded, able to break down complex concepts into easily digestible steps
  • Deadline focused, organized and able to prioritize multiple projects 
  • Exceptional attendance record
  • Demonstrates a positive “can do” demeanor and has fun and gains energy from working with others.
